2017 - The all new BMW G 310 GS

Mensagem por amandio » 27 out 2016 08:11

Apesar de não ter sido apresentada oficialmente, já existem rumores e fotos na net sobre este futuro modelo e nova adição à família GS.

A 310GS será um dos modelos que será produzido também na novíssima fabrica no Brasil.

BMW G310 GS To Debut at EICMA Motorcycle Show in November
Based on the G310R streetfighter, the BMW G 310 GS will be powered by a 34bhp, 313cc, single-cylinder engine.

BMW Motorrad has announced that it will unveil four new models at EICMA Motorcycle Show, which is scheduled to be held from 8th to 13th November, 2016. Out of these four products, two will be from the GS adventure range including the BMW G310 GS. Based on the G 310 R platform, BMW’s mini-GS adventure tourer shares some of its design bits from the popular F 700GS.

Reports suggest that the BMW G 310 GS could be introduced as F 310 GS in the Indian market. The BMW G310 GS will be the third product by BMW-TVS JV, the first two being the BMW G 310 R and the fully faired TVS Akula 310. The G310 GS will be a dual-purpose bike for enthusiasts in the country.

The Adventure Sport will have its world premiere at the 2016 EICMA (Milan Motor Show). The bike will enter our shores towards the end of next year. Before GS, BMW-TVS will launch the G310R streetfighter and TVS Akula 310.

Known specs:
Engine 313cc, single-cylinder water-cooled
Power 34bhp
Torque 28Nm
Transmission 6-speed
The GS 310 will share its underpinnings with the G310R streetfighter. The bike will source its power from an all-new 313cc backward-tilted, 4-stroke, single-cylinder water-cooled engine. This motor is capable of pushing out 34bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox.

Design
The latest spyshots suggest that the bike has derived a few design elements from its elder sibling – BMW R 1200 GS. While features such as headlight, handlebar and instrument cluster are carried forward from the G310R. The bike also gets a small windscreen and dual-sport tyres.

Suspension & Braking System
Similar to the engine, the mini GS Adventure Sport will share its suspension and braking mechanism with the G310R. Suspension duties will be performed by an inverted telescopic fork upfront and monoshock rear setup. With added fairing, the bike is expected to be slightly heavier than its sibling (weighing 158.5kgs). Based on new tubular steel chassis, the GS 310 is expected to get 300mm single disc front brake and 240mm rear disc brake with 2-piston floating caliper. Adding to it, the bike will also get dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard feature.

We’ve reported on the rumored G 310 GS in the past, even within the past few days. Now the folks over at VisorDown.com have posted an image purporting to show a near production-ready test version of the mini adventure machine.

As we’ve discussed several times, the GS lineup has been wildly successful for the Bavarian motorcycle brand. BMW created the adventure segment decades ago with the introduction of the R80 G/S, but even in modern times the GS badge is adorned by the brand’s best-selling motorcycles. In fact, the R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS ADV are often the best selling Beamers, by a rather significant margin.

As expected, BMW Motorrad seems to be hopeful that the success of the large displacement ‘adventure king’, the R 1200 GS, will translate into a successful, small displacement adventure bike. Though, the smaller displacement GS bikes, like the 650 and 700 GS, have never had a comparable reign in terms of sales. Still, BMW is very eager to ramp up volume by 2020 to 200,000 units per annum. This new model will play a role in achieving that goal.

Based upon the cost-consciously developed G 310 R, which is manufactured in India by TVS, the new G 310 GS will make use of the same 313cc, single cylinder engine. As far as performance figures are concerned, expect the GS’ engine to be tuned to reflect its intended functionality both on and off-road. In other words, expect it to be a bit slower and a bit torquier, unless BMW leaves the engine unmodified from its current state.

BMW Motorrad’s future growth plan places particular emphasis on the significance that the U.S. market is expected to play, hoping that the firm’s market share will double here. However, small displacement motorcycles, below 500cc, whether premium or not, sell abysmally here in the States. Will the G 310 GS be able to buck that trend by carrying some of the credibility of the GS name and the prestige of the BMW roundel?

De acordo com os comentários da MCN:

BMW G 310 GS: 5 Things You Need to Know

Imagem

Adventure touring is the fastest growing motorcycle segment, not only in India, but across the world. So far, the global adventure motorcycle market is dominated by large displacement, heavyweight bikes, led by BMW's bestselling R 1200 GS. In fact, over the years, most manufacturers like BMW, Triumph and KTM have been increasing the size of the engines and bikes on these heavy duty adventure bikes.

Things however, seem to have come to a point where motorcyclists have come to realise that less is more. The global adventure motorcycling community has always been vocal about the need for a small, lightweight motorcycle - easy to manoeuvre, easy to ride, yet with decent power for the long haul. Such a bike isn't just about the weekend ride to the nearest hills, but even hardcore round-the-world (RTW) travellers have time and again remarked on the advantages of a lightweight touring machine.

The upcoming BMW G 310 GS seems to tick all the right boxes on those requirements and once launched, is expected to generate a lot of buying interest. Here's a look at what we know so far about the highly anticipated BMW G 310 GS.

1. GS Design Language
The G 310 GS follows the traditional design language of the larger adventure bikes from the BMW - so there's a 'beak' - a styling feature that adventure bikes have come to be identified with, a small windscreen and dual-sport tyres for both off-road and on-road use.

This mini-GS certainly ticks all the right boxes of being an adventure tourer with a sump guard as well as a luggage carrier at the rear. The overall design is unmistakably BMW GS and should find appeal in the adventure touring crowd.

2. Engine and Suspension
The BMW G 310 GS will be powered by the same engine as the G 310 R - a 313cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 34bhp. The engine however, may be retuned for more low-end grunt for touring and adventure use. The bike seems to have a higher ride height than the road-based G 310 R and the suspension also looks similar to the G 310 R, but is likely to get more travel to tackle off-road terrain.

3. Product of BMW-TVS partnership
The G 310 R is currently under development in India, jointly with TVS Motor Company and is being made at the TVS factory in Hosur. So far, we have only seen spy shots of an under-production model being tested in Europe. But the bike looks well-built and finished, together with the BMW badge proudly adorning the body.

This lightweight motorcycle is the adventure version of the upcoming BMW G 310 R, the first motorcycle to be developed jointly by BMW and TVS. Like the G 310 R, the BMW G 310 GS promises to be a high-quality machine, yet have locally made components which are expected to keep both the price tag competitive as well as keep maintenance and cost of spares low.

4. Launch date and pricing
News coming out from BMW suggest that the G 310 R will be launched sometime in the first quarter of 2017, and BMW Motorrad will also be opening exclusive showrooms across India. The first bike - the G 310 R - is expected to be launched in the first half of 2017, while the G 310 GS is likely to be launched towards the end of 2017. But first, the G 310 GS may be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy, next month.

There's no official word on actual timelines or pricing, but we expect the G 310 GS to be priced just under Rs 3 lakh. At that price, the G 310 GS promises to be a very attractive and affordable adventure bike.

5. Market positioning
Adventure bikes have been quite the rage in recent years internationally. In India too, motorcycle touring has really taken off with the number of long distance tourers increasing exponentially every year. In India too, motorcycle touring has truly come of age, with adventure seekers taking their bikes of choice every summer to the high mountains of Ladakh and Spiti. It is on terrain like these and even the closer home broken roads and jungle trails that adventure riders seek to explore.

Royal Enfield has already launched its version of the adventure tourer in the Himalayan and there's been endless speculation about KTM working on an adventure bike based on the 390 Duke. Those rumours have been denied by the Austrian bike maker. On the upper end of the adventure market is the Triumph Tiger, which has been one of the largest selling motorcycles for the British marquee, despite the Tiger being a heavy and relatively expensive proposition.

A lightweight adventure bike, just like the G 310 GS, that too, made in India, and backed by a brand like BMW, could very well be the next big thing in the adventure motorcycle market - both here in India and abroad.

Re: 2017 - The all new BMW G 310 GS

Noutro artigo da MCN:

New BMW G310 GS

While BMW were busy unveiling their latest new models at the huge Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany – our spy snapper was chasing their test riders on German roads to capture a new bike BMW didn’t want us to see just yet: the new G310 GS.

While there’s no official confirmation from BMW that this bike even exists, the boss of BMW Motorrad, Stephan Schaller, has confirmed to MCN that more G310 models are on the way, and this funky GS variant looks absolutely production-ready. All the signs point to this new model being released at the upcoming Milan show in early November.

So what can we see?
Rumours had already been circulating for some time about a GS version of the new G310 – as well as a half-faired version – but these images leave absolutely no doubt about its arrival, the GS moniker clearly emblazoned on the tank cover of both sets of test mules.

Even without the assistance of undisguised decals, it’s abundantly clear that this new variant sits higher slightly than the S1000R-styled G310R, wears the distinctive ‘beak’ that has come to define the GS style, has a more upswept exhaust position, and also sports a set of Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres.

While this bike will be built in India by BMW’s partner, TVS, the new baby-GS will have been completely designed and engineered by BMW in Germany, before being readied for production at TVS – where the G310R is also built.

At the heart of the bike is the same fuel injected 313cc, liquid-cooled DOHC 4V single-cylinder engine, which is reversed in the frame (the cylinderhead turned by 180 degrees allowing the inlet tract to be positioned at the front of the motor, the exhaust at the rear).

We don’t expect the GS to be in a different state of tune, so should still deliver a claimed 34bhp at 9500rpm, and 20.6lbft of torque at 7500rpm. While it’s likely to be heavier than the R model, we wouldn’t expect it to tip the scales at more than 162kg (to the R’s 158.5kg).

Hold it together
The tubular steel frame appears completely unchanged, while the footrest hangers are now painted black rather than silver. The cast aluminium swingarm also appears to be identical to the R model.

The seat unit wears newly-designed, longer, bodywork which extends down to beneath the rider’s seat, while the seat itself bears no obvious changes. All the test bikes spied are wearing topboxes, which we don't expect to be a standard feature, although the integrated luggage rack/grab-handle assembly looks likely to be stock fit.

A centre-stand is fitted to half the test bikes, but the other half only boast a sidestand, suggesting that even it’s not standard fit, it will be an option. Ahead of the rider’s seat is a completely redesigned tank and frontal bodywork – including that beak – all mimicking the bigger GS models. The dash appears identical to the R’s, but mounted higher, and more vertically.

Keep rolling
The suspension looks identical to the G310R, thougth there may be linkage or set up changes to lift the GS slightly by comparison to its roadster sibling. That means a 41mm inverted fork up front, and a directly mounted and adjustable rear monoshock.

Hanging off both are a set of identically styled wheels to those fitted to the R. That might disappoint those who want the more authentically off-road style that only laced rims can deliver – but don’t forget that the R1200GS comes on cast wheels, too.

The Metzeler Tourance tyres fitted are a 150/70 17 rear and 110/80 R19 front, compared to the R’s 150/60/17 rear and 110/70/17 front, therefore also accounting for some of the GS’s taller stance).

Load me up
There is sure to be a raft of accompanying accessories available to take the GS even deeper into the R1200’s style territory. Luggage, seat options, that centrestand, LED indicators, 12v charging sockets and heated grips are all no-brainers, not least because they’re available for the R model.

Based on these test mules we can expect it to arrive in at least grey/black and red/silver colour combos, and believe it’s likely to arrive in dealers in late Spring 2017.

Pois, mas já tiveste uma também

Mas na verdade o filão GS representa mais de metade das vendas BMW... por isso há que continuar a explorar novos mercados... seja ele qual for.
